This summer, we’ve brought together visual and verbal expression to transform our Galleries into a platform for emotional reflection, creative freedom, and new perspectives.
In collaboration with London-born rapper, poet and spoken word Artist, George the Poet, and the Mayor of London’s Violence Reduction Unit (VRU), we’re proud to present a powerful new way to experience the masterpieces inside our immersive galleries.
Explore an exclusive preview of spoken word pieces written and performed by young voices from the VRU, alongside a special piece from George the Poet and learn how you can get involved through our summer workshops, Lates workshop on 29 August, and #SummerOfExpression competition.

Come along to FRAMELESS Lates, on Friday 29 August, where award-winning poet Deanna Rodger will take over our Blank Canvas Gallery to host an adults-only spoken word workshop.
This is included in your Lates ticket, so you can wander the Galleries with drink in hand and drop-in throughout the evening at no extra cost.

This summer holidays we are excited to be hosting weekly spoken word workshops. Led by a line-up of acclaimed spoken word artists, the sessions offer young people a new way to connect with visual art through poetry and performance.
The details:

The Mayor of London set up London’s Violence Reduction Unit to tackle the underlying causes of violence by leading an approach that is rooted in prevention and early intervention. Since 2019, the VRU has invested in over 400,000 diversionary activities and positive opportunities for young Londoners.
FRAMELESS and London’s Violence Reduction Unit have a shared goal to break down barriers and showcase how the arts is a beneficial outlet for young people to express themselves and communicate their feelings.
Hear the powerful spoken word poetry from the young people of The Violence Reduction Unit. These are available to listen to when visiting our Galleries this summer, enhancing your immersive experience.
