About the National Portrait Gallery

In partnership with the National Portrait Gallery, this residency draws on one of the world’s most important collections of portraits to bring history to life in new and unexpected ways.

The National Portrait Gallery tells the story of Britain through the people who have shaped it. Spanning six centuries, its Collection reveals the personal stories behind cultural icons, national figures and influential voices, from well-known names to those less widely recognised.

At the heart of the Gallery’s work is a belief in the power of portraiture to connect people across time. By bringing these stories into an immersive setting, Stories – Brought to Life offers a new way to experience portraiture, combining art, history and storytelling.
